The Annual Drogheda Arts Festival returns with an exciting line up including live music, exhibitions and street performances.


Showcasing both local and international talent, this year’s festival is a vibrant fusion of art, culture, and creativity. Running from 2nd to the 4th May, DAF brings a dynamic and diverse array of performances and entertainment designed to engage and inspire people of all ages.


Hosted in the heart of Drogheda beside the river Boyne at the Scotch Hall Plaza, the festival’s big day out will delight and enchant children and families with street entertainment, arts demonstrations and music.


In the heart of the town a curated selection of renowned and emerging artists from various disciplines, including visual arts, theatre and music will feature in the Droichead Arts Centre, Highlanes Gallery, The Former Methodist church and The Little Duke Theatre.


Friday 2nd May

The festival will begin with the launch of Artist Liam O’ Callaghan’s - Bit Symphony in The Former Methodist Church, and an overview of what’s to come over the weekend.


Sat 3rd May

AI:OK. A talk delivered by Dr. Martin Clancy at 11am on the implications of Artificial Intelligence on the music industry and what we can learn from it. Free event; but booking essential.


Walk, Talk and Chalk Tours at 11.30am & 2.30pm led by Artist Caoimhe Mc Carthy on the hidden gems of Art in Drogheda while you make your own piece of art. Booking is essential.


A not to be missed captivating afternoon of Traditional Irish music takes place at 2.30pm in the Highlanes Gallery with musicians Sárán Mulligan, Tadhg Mulligan, Muirine Nic Róibín, Colm McGonigle and Seán Ó Casaide.


An array of entertainment kicks off at 1pm with The Big Day Out at Scotch Hall, bringing an exciting line up of thrills and entertainment with music from the fantastic Blue Belles, Ireland’s freshest post-modern vintage-style trio, Jitterbug Jackson, a performer who knows no bounds when it comes to entertainment, and the international acrobats Entre Nos who delight audiences all over Europe.


Local artists, Creative Circle and Gatothor Cerámica will have demonstrations to inspire any budding artists. The day will also feature local talents such as Kidkast, and the Drogheda Brass Band.

To add to the day, a special edition of the Cottage Market takes place in Scotch Hall, showcasing the work of talented local artists and makers where you'll find something truly unique.


The evening will round off in the Droichead Arts Centre with a one-off exclusive performance by Warp Record Stalwarts– Seefeel, marking their highly anticipated live return following on from their first new album in 13 years ‘Everything Squared’, in conjunction with thirty three 45. Sunday 4th May

Local actress and storyteller Grainne Rafferty presents – Around the Head, an uplifting life affirming performance, taking place in the Little Duke Theatre. Tickets available through the DAF website.


Closing the festival line up on Sunday night in the intimate surroundings of Gerrards Church, Tom Dunne (Hothouse Flowers) & Fiachna O’ Braonain (Something Happens) will perform and entertain bringing an evening of songs and stories.
